1997 Honda CBR1100XX Blackbird

There's far more to the CBR1100XX than just its speedometer, such as a fairing that's easily the most aerodynamic ever produced for a streetbike. A new "piggyback" type headlight with a free-form multi-curvature reflector let Honda's engineers stack the high and low beams for a sleeker front profile. And a 16-valve 1137cc DOHC engine with liquid cooling, twin counterbalancers - a first for a modern sportbike - and huge 42mm flat-side carbs.

With Honda's latest Linked Braking System, twin-spar aluminum chassis, 43mm cartridge-type fork, 5.8-gallon fuel tank, and superb ergonomics, the CBR1100XX Blackbird is as unapproachable in overall performance as it is on the top end.
